Recipe: Spiked Hot Chocolate

It's not the holiday season until you've had your first proper hot chocolate. In this case, by proper, we mean with a splash of Christmas courage. We sourced this superb recipe from Will Cook For Smiles. Try it out and see if you're not a-wassailing by the bottom of the mug... although, we still don't know what that means.

You'll need:

  • 2 1/4 cups fat-free milk

  • 1/3 cup Nutella

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 oz Kahlua

  • 1 1/4 oz Frangelico

Steps:

  1. Heat milk in a saucepot over medium heat.

  2. Add vanilla and Nutella and slowly whisk with a silicone covered whisk until Nutella is all melted and incorporated.

  3. Stir in Kahlua and Frangelico and cook for 3-5 minutes.

  4. Add Nutella for topping into a piping bag and cut off the tip leaving a small hole.

  5. Pour into cups, and start practicing your "surprised" gift opening face!
