JAK’s Gives Back to food banks across BC on May 30

Every day at JAK’s we feel the love from our guests; these days we can even see your smiles from behind your masks and it’s truly what lights us up. We’re so grateful for the trust of the communities we serve, especially throughout this pandemic, and we hope to have made your social isolation happy hours a little happier through these hard times!

Now it’s our turn to show gratitude for our communities at a time they need it most. Take the Greater Vancouver Food Bank for example. They’re expecting an unprecedented level of need to emerge in the next 3-6 months — in fact, the GVFB is already seeing an increase in the number of brand new clients to the food bank, as well as people coming back who haven’t relied on the food bank for many years, according to Cynthia Boulter, Chief Operating Officer at the GVFB.

On Saturday, May 30th it’s our second annual JAK’s Gives Back. That day 10 percent of sales from all 13 locations and on shop.jaks.com, will be donated to local food banks. And there’s truly no catch. When else can you stock up on your favourite beverages and make a difference doing it?!  We normally kick off summer with this campaign, but we simply couldn’t wait on the sidelines when local food banks desperately need our support now to keep shelves stocked and families fed.

With 13 locations across the province, local food banks will be supported across Vancouver, New Westminster, Richmond, Coquitlam, Maple Ridge, Penticton, Williams Lake, and Campbell River.

Since our teams can’t physically raise a glass with you in stores on May 30th due to ongoing physical distancing, $1 from every bottle of JAK’s Gratitude wine sold this month is going to local food banks to add to our donations. It’s our way of showing extra gratitude and doing virtual ‘cheers’ in a year we all really need it.

We hope to see you on May 30th  — grab a bottle or two of wine, or your favourite craft beer and give back to your local community at the same time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support.

With gratitude,

The JAK’s family
