December Tasting Notes

Despite the challenges of 2020, it tis the season to be jolly and embrace the holiday spirit. 2021 is on the horizon and with it brings an exciting new year full of enthusiasm and hope. Check out some of our suggestions below to help you cozy up at home during these winter months.

Trevigiana Prosecco
Hailing from Veneto, Italy using the Glera grape, this sparkling wine lends a flowery bouquet reminiscent of acacia flowers, with notes of apple and peach. Fresh acidity and ripe stone fruits on the palate make for a delightful holiday sparkle!

Lar de Plata Cava
A delightful sparkling Cava from Spain showing dry with some crisp, fresh acidity. Flavours of white flower, apple and toasty nuances come through on the palate. A great all-around bubbly for pairing with aperitifs or to be enjoyed on its own.

Buehler Chardonnay
A beautiful balance of fresh acidity combined with stone fruits, pear and ginger. Lingering toasty notes show on the finish from time spent ageing in French oak. Awarded 91 points by James Suckling.

L’Orangeraie Pinot Noir
This Languedoc Pinot Noir shows seductively ripe with plump cherry and plum flavours followed by a touch of sweet spice. The silky soft tannin structure lends to an easy drinking style that can be enjoyed on its own. Try with roast turkey or grilled salmon with a touch of cranberry.

Muckle Flugga Single Malt Scotch
Gentle, smooth and classically Speyside with aromas of sweet spice, blossom, pear and honey. Aged in ex-Sherry casks with over wintering in the Shetland Isles for an extra year adds a touch of salinity reminiscent of salted nuts. This warm and cozy dram that hails from a northern winter wonderland is bound to keep you merry.

Bulliet Bourbon with Lewis Gift Bag
Inspired by the whiskey pioneered by Augustus Bulleit over 150 years ago. Its higher rye content gives a bold, spicy character. Sweet oak aromas followed by mid-palate smoothness with tones of maple, oak, and nutmeg. Finish is long, dry, and satiny with a light toffee flavour.
