Lynn joined JAK’S in 2017 and she brings over thirty years of industry experience to JAK’S from the liquor retail and hospitality industry. Lynn is a Certified Sommelier, has her WSET Diploma in Wine & Spirits and on the side she currently teaches WSET courses with Fine Vintage Ltd. She is known to be one of the most passionate and energetic educators in the industry. While wine brought her into the industry, Lynn’s equal passion for spirits lead her to become a Certified Spirits Specialist and the Whisky Ambassador Tutor for the West Coast. Away from JAK’S, Lynn can be found on her horse, hiking with her husky or hanging in a wine or whisky region.
Human Performance Coordinator
Carla joined JAK’S in 2018 after a career in human resources and management with Bell and TEK Systems. Growing up in Oliver, Canada’s unofficial wine capital, Carla has developed a love for wine, which fits perfectly with her role at JAK’S. Carla has been instrumental in recruiting amazing team members and is currently responsible for updating the human resources and operations manuals. Carla and her husband, Mike, live in Vancouver with their two children.
Peter joined the JAK’S management team in 2008 working within JAK Group Pubs and later moving to JAK’s Beer Wine Spirits. He brings his passion for hospitality, guest service, and leadership development to the retail sector to grow future JAK’S leaders. When away from JAK’S, Peter is playing indoor soccer, floor hockey, and hiking the local mountains.
Head Buyer of Beer & Cider
Starting at our Fleetwood location in June 2014, Rhandi now oversees the craft beer and cider program for all our locations with the support of the in store specialists. Her never satisfied passion and curiosity for craft beer in our province has taken her full circle. Working various positions in craft beer including marketing and events coordinator, Sales rep and executive for CAMRA Vancouver and South Fraser. An Ontario native, now calling beautiful Vancouver her home. When she’s not at one of our stores, she’s likely at the beach chasing sunsets or on a road trip to find that perfect waterfall.
Before Karly joined JAK’S in 2018, she spent over 8 years in the hospitality industry and developed social media strategies for various Vancouver-based companies. As Marketing Coordinator, she is responsible for implementing marketing strategies online and at a store level; that help increase JAK’S brand awareness, generate leads and acquire new customers. When she isn’t behind a screen, she spends time outdoors, travelling and sipping wine with friends and family.
Sarah joined JAK’S in 2018 as the General Manager of the Richmond location. Sarah is passionate about guest experience and connecting people with delicious products. Her previous experience includes General Manager of the Sugarfina Boutique at Nordstrom Vancouver and working as Regional Merchandiser and Sales Specialist with Nespresso Coffee. Later in 2018, Sarah was promoted to the position of Area Manager and now oversees Richmond and 41st & Knight in conjunction with her role as the General Manager of Parkcrest. And in her spare time she can usually be found visiting local craft breweries and Okanagan wineries with her husband.
Christina joined JAK’S in 2016 after spending three years working in the BC Wine Industry in the Okanagan, where she ignited her passion for BC Wine. Christina’s role with JAK’s has allowed her to entangle her passions for Wine, Family, Fun and Leadership in a way that nurtures her dreams in and out of work. Christina is hoping to enroll in the WSET Diploma program in September 2018, so she can continually share and expand her knowledge. Away from JAK’s Christina spends most of her time hosting friends and family. Often enough, Christina can be found in the kitchen creating recipes and wine pairings, enjoying the outdoors, and gushing over her niece.
Rebecca joined JAK’S in 2018 after 15 plus years in clothing and footwear retail management with Payless Shoe Source and Reitmans Canada LTD. In 2019 Rebecca moved from a store management role into the Area Manager role. Rebecca is passionate about servant leadership and is certified in Ken Blanchard's Situational Leadership 2. Rebecca has achieved Prud'homme level 1 and WSET level 1 & 2. When not at work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with her life partner, adult children and grand daughter fishing, quadding and camping. When she isn't enjoying the outdoor life on Vancouver Island, you will find her enjoying some fast paced action at a Nascar or NHRA track.
